Colorful Craft Cart for Kids
It can be really overwhelming keeping the kids toys and arts & crafts supplies organized. You can get a Traditional Craft Cart, but another option is to get a Bar Cart or repurpose one you already have for the kids supplies. A Bar Cart has so many uses! I styled this one from Wayfair into a children’s craft cart. It’s so bright and colorful and perfect for a kids bedroom or craft room area. A Craft Cart will encourage you to keep all the kids supplies in one, organized, (stylish) spot.
In this post I included a photo of the way I styled it for Wayfair originally, so you can see how it was first styled (It was a Holiday Bar Cart for their Holiday Catalog and Website) and then the way I styled it for kids! (So many things can be re-purposed and re-styled!)
I do love an open concept approach. If all the kids supplies are tucked away (or in many different locations throughout the house with out a “central craft hub”) it does not lend itself to consistent creativity. It maybe “out of sight - out of mind”. If they kids can see everything they are much more likely to want to create!
1. Choose a Bright Cheerful Color!
Kids love color and color definitely sparks imagination! Select your child’s favorite color. Or if you are repurposing wooden a cart - paint it! A fresh coat of paint always gives new life, right?!
2. Select Easy to Clean & Care For Cart.
This Cart is made of Enamel. So, it’s easy to clean and adds a stylish touch to your Craft Cart. Since you will get spills and it will probably see its fair share of paint, glue, and magic marker mishaps, choose a Cart that is easy to clean.
3. Use Wire Baskets for Organization.
Wire Baskets keeps the kids supplies organized into different categories while still being able to see what’s in each basket. Place your craft tools, paper, paint and supplies in a clear or wire baskets. This way you will have easy access. Other smaller supplies can be placed in smaller containers. The Container Store is always a great source for any size container you need. You can even color code them with these or keep everything clear boxes.
4. Wheels! Bring the Creativity Everywhere & Anywhere!
Having your cart on wheels lends to your cart being completely portable so you can bring it to any location in the house or outside.
5. Display Kids Artwork and Craft Projects They Make.
Encourage creativity by proudly displaying artwork and projects. Our kids own artwork makes beautiful, original and creative decor in any room of the house. There are so many options to display projects. Here are a few options:
Flat Frame / Shadow Box Frame for Art Projects / Art Cable / Magnetic Board
